Douglas Bader was a British fighter pilot. He joined the Royal Air Force in 1928 and was a trained pilot by 1930.

In December, he crashed during a flying display and lost both his legs. He recovered and was actually readmitted to the RAF as a pilot, where he became a British flying ace with 22 kills.

In August 1941, he was shot down by a Messerschmitt Bf 109 over German-occupied France and taken prisoner of war.

Shortly thereafter, he befriended the famous German fighter pilot Adolf Galland and even received permission to inspect a Messerschmitt 109 up close.

However, his request to "just briefly" sit in the aircraft was understandably denied.

He flew both the Hawker Hurricane and Supermarine Spitfire fighter aircraft in the Royal Air Force!

This unique piece is painstakingly and lovingly handcrafted in Germany in the so-called "vintage look" and is replicated with a curve corresponding to the original aircraft part.

The metal is made of aircraft aluminum. The squadron emblem matches the original emblem used at the time, in terms of color, shape, and size.

This emblem is not mass-produced, but is applied by hand, just as it was in the operational airfields back then.

A pre-installed mount ensures quick and easy wall mounting.
