Messerschmitt Bf 109, Supermarine Spitfire, P-51 Mustang – for many people, these names of old aircraft from a bygone era hold a strong fascination. I am one of them. Even as a child and teenager, meticulously and passionately building small 1:72 scale aircraft models was the greatest thing for me. Later came remote-controlled aircraft, more than one of which, due to faulty electronics, quietly hummed off into the horizon, never to be seen again. As an adult, it naturally had to be real airplanes, and fortunately for me, the German Armed Forces' flying group had a few airworthy crates around for me to indulge my passion. It was in those days that my passion for collecting original Warbird instruments was born. What started with the acquisition of an altimeter has evolved over the years into owning complete cockpit panels of famous WWII fighter planes, as well as rarities of pilot equipment. This required a lot of research, perseverance, money, patience, and time. During this time, I had the pleasure of meeting like-minded companions whom I am now privileged to have on board as part of CockpitRockers. So that other collectors and Warbird enthusiasts can also benefit from our perseverance, CockpitRockers produces unique replicas modeled after these old originals – unique pieces that can now be found with collectors, in museums, and at airshows all over the world.
